Cambridge Tutor visits CRGS

We were very pleased to welcome Dr Andrew Bell, Admissions Tutor of Gonville and Caius College, Cambridge, to the school yesterday. Andrew was formerly a Fellow at Oxford University so is able to talk with great insight about the Oxbridge process in general and the idiosyncrasies of both universities. Andrew spoke first of all to the Year 13 students who are awaiting Oxbridge interviews, passed on his advice and answered their probing questions. Later in the evening he spoke to an audience of Year 12 students and their parents about applying to Oxbridge, a talk which attracted 275 people, the highest number ever. Andrew’s informative presentation was followed by a Q&A session. Andrew remarked once again on the quality of the questions he received and the responsiveness of the audience.

The Headmaster comments, ‘It was encouraging to see so many parents and students showing an interest in Oxbridge. Andrew speaks so well that I have no doubt that everyone who came along enjoyed his presentation and I know that the students were enthused by it. They should start thinking now about what they can do this year to be in a position to submit a strong application next year.’
