German Christmas Markets Trip

Posted On: 18/12/15

59 pupils from years 8 and 9 have just returned from a three-day trip to Cologne and Aachen in Germany. They were able to visit the magnificent cathedral in Cologne (shown in the photo behind the group) and the historic cathedral in Aachen where Charlemagne was crowned. The other main attraction of the trip was a visit to a series of Christmas markets in both cities. There was plenty of exercise too with an active visit to the sports and olympic museum, not to mention the 500 or so steps to climb the tower of Cologne cathedral!

Many thanks to Dr Hartford for her excellent organisation of the trip.
