Cricket

In the summer term at CRGS, Cricket becomes an extra-curricular focus, with teams at all levels competing in fixtures predominantly on Saturdays, with occasional midweek fixtures for cup competitions and senior teams.  The school operates a full fixture calendar for both 1st and 2nd senior teams, and each 'A' team in year groups lower down the school.  This is coupled with regular 'B' team fixtures in each year group to promote and develop the availability of inclusion and participation for all students with regards to competitive fixtures

Whilst these matches are competitive, the ethos of cricket at CRGS is to promote the development of our students in both the social and sporting spheres of their school life.  The school prides itself in the promotion of the values of fair play and sportsmanship, alongside giving your all, representing your team with pride, and more importantly still, enjoyment.

Each year, the 1st XI takes part in the Royal Grammar Schools Cricket Festival – a prestigious cricketing event that sees each of the six schools hosting on a rota basis and this provides a real focus for the senior boys throughout the season.
