Both students and staff give up their free time, both after school and at lunch, to offer extra opportunities to other pupils. Some clubs run throughout the academic year, others run during the appropriate season.
The ICT Department opens up the computer suites during lunchtimes for student use, with priority given to those needing to work, and staffed by Sixth Form Technicians who can help with using the machines.
Many PE clubs run at different times of year, often with distinct year groups at certain times, and occasionally as charity competitions. These include Tennis, Basketball and Swimming.
Spanish, Italian and Russian clubs have been offered in the past and run dependant on demand. A small Christian Union meets weekly, and Design & Technology minded students contribute to the Green Power Electric Car project. The school runs a Quiz club and Public Speaking training, both of which attend competitions up to National level.
Students are encouraged to set up clubs, under a teacher's guidance, if it is felt they could do so. Other extra-curricular activities are organised through departments, for example, Sports teams train outside of school regularly and Drama and Music arrange Shows and Concerts.
