Who should be responsible for teaching you about personal finance? This was the question posed by the annual Baillie Gifford essay competition, which aims to stretch the writing skills of young economists beyond the normal A-level specification. The essay entries were judged on relevance, ability to argue from different points of view and ideas discussed. From hundreds of entries to the competition nationwide, we are very pleased to hear that our very own Anarug Shinkar was selected as the national runner up. His efforts have won both a mini-laptop for himself, and £100 of book vouchers for the CRGS Economics Department.
