World Book Day

On Thursday 5th March, CRGS celebrated World Book Day. Sixth Formers and members of staff dressed up as various literary characters, including Mary Poppins, Lyra Belacqua and the witch from Room on the Broom. Key Stage Three students were given a commendation if they correctly guessed a member of staff's character.

A book and bake sale was held in the library and we were very appreciative of all the donations we received. The star attraction was an amazing cake inspired by The Very Hungry Caterpillar, made by a Year 7 parent. The cake was won by Otto in Year 7 in the 'Guess the Caterpillar's Name' competition.

Thanks to the parents, Student Librarians and staff volunteers, as well as the many students who came and bought lots of books and cakes, we raised nearly £125. More than £20 was donated by the Sixth Form students who dressed up.
