A number of students mentioned to the Catering Staff about the possibility of having ‘Meat-Free Monday’ and the Lower School and Sixth Form councils asked the students in their respective tutor groups for their opinions.
The majority of students did not want an enforced meat-free day. Instead, they thought it would be a good idea to promote a vegetarian choice every day.
The staff ran a poster competition that was open to all students and the posters were judged by Mr Burley, Mr Chart-Boyles and Mrs Fry.
Congratulations to Subash Saravanan (Year 9) who won the competition with his bright and colourful entry. His poster will be displayed in the canteen and in departments across the school. After half term, there will be a vegetarian menu every day along with more information to complement the poster.
Subash will also be presented with a hamper from the Catering Staff. Well done!
