Head of PE

Head of PE

Required for September 2022

Due to internal promotion we are seeking to appoint an excellent practitioner of PE to lead the department. PE and sport are highly valued subjects within our school and this is a fabulous opportunity for a talented individual to further enhance our practice. Working closely with the Director of Sport you will have responsibility for the day-to-day running of our PE curriculum, including delivery of the subject’s A level, and be involved with all aspects of our extensive sport provision.

Students cover a wide range of sports and activities during their lessons including basketball, athletics, swimming, table tennis and fitness. In conjunction with this all students have a Games afternoon per week focussing on rugby, football and cricket which then links into our extensive fixture lists.

Fixtures are predominantly played on Saturdays in the Autumn and Summer Terms against schools from within the East of England and any successful applicant will be expected to fully contribute to this.

You will need to be a strong and dynamic teacher with excellent pedagogical awareness and understanding, and the ability to teach a variety of the school’s main sports, ideally to a very good level.

This is an exciting opportunity to work in our school which has recently been awarded with The Sunday Times Parent Power East Anglia State Secondary School of the Decade. Our school is enriched by a strongly multicultural and diverse student body. We promote equality, diversity and inclusion in all that we do, and would welcome applications from people who support and enhance this ethos.
