"You can’t be what you can’t see."

– Marian Wright Edelman

At CRGS, we take our duties under the Equality Act 2010 seriously. We work tirelessly every day to maintain a trusting, secure and happy environment where everyone will be treated with respect.

CRGS aims to promote students' spiritual, moral, social, and cultural development, with special emphasis on promoting equality, diversity and eradicating prejudicial incidents. Our school is committed to not only eliminating discrimination, but also increasing our community’s understanding of, and appreciation for, diversity.

All students have equal opportunities and rights and will be treated with respect. All members of the school community have a responsibility to promote equality of opportunity, experience and treatment. We are proud that our school community consists of a diverse range of people – employees, visitors, students and parents. We celebrate our differences, understanding them and enjoying the diversity this brings.

Our staff Equality & Diversity group includes: Mrs Chandler, Mr Chart-Boyles, Mrs Drake, Mrs Fry, Dr Hartford, Mrs Hyde, Mr O’Mahony and Mrs Skeet. You can contact the group directly via their dedicated email address: equalities@crgs.co.uk.

A wide range of student-led, staff-supported clubs and societies also help shape our equalities work, including: Afro-Caribbean Society, Asian Society, FemSoc, LGBT+Soc and Christian Union. Student voice is central to the development of our equalities work and representatives from our student groups, along with our Senior Prefect Team, regularly meet with the Headmaster to share their ideas and opinions.

We recognise the value of seeking expertise from outside the school too; see below for links to our training partners.
